Alternative Dispute Resolution entities
As a consumer, you may be entitled to use legally available alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in Portugal. The competent entity can depend on the nature of the dispute and your location. Depending on your case, this may include CICAP — Centro de Informação, Mediação e Arbitragem de Consumo (covering the Porto region) or, where no sector-specific entity applies, CNIACC — Centro Nacional de Informação e Arbitragem de Conflitos de Consumo.
Consumers may consult the official Portuguese consumer information channels and the list of authorised consumer dispute resolution entities to identify the competent entity for their specific dispute.
