How we write our guides
Who publishes them
The guides on this site are published by Urbanis, the trading name of Demenashe e Rabinovich, Lda. (company number 518 355 462), a licensed real estate agency in Porto (AMI 24596), with its registered office at Rua do Campo Lindo, no. 340, 2nd Floor, 4200-144 Porto. Urbanis is responsible for what the guides say.
How a guide is made
- We choose topics from what people search for and ask us about: buying property, visas, taxes, schools, healthcare and the cost of living in Portugal.
- Research and drafting are done with the help of AI tools.
- For legal, tax and regulatory facts we use only official sources: Diário da República, Portal das Finanças, AIMA, CMVM, INE, gov.pt and, when a guide covers another country, that country's official sites.
- Before a guide is published, every claim and every link goes through a separate fact-check against the sources the guide cites.
- Translations into the site's eight languages are also made with AI tools.
What the guides are not
They are general information, not legal, tax, investment or medical advice. Your own case needs a licensed professional. Urbanis does not sell financial products, including investment fund units.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows the date it was published and, when it changes, the date it was updated. Laws, thresholds and waiting times change, so check the date before relying on a figure. If you find an error, write to geral@urbanispt.com. We check it against the source and correct the guide where needed.
Languages
The site is published in eight languages. Our team speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish and Hebrew, and replies in one of those languages.
